Speaking during an interview, Sharon, who serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Davido’s record label, said she has always been involved in her brother’s career and management from the beginning.
She explained that one of the major issues she discusses with Davido during their finance meetings is his spending on jewellery and cars.
“One of the major things that I’m always getting on my brother is jewellery and cars. Oh, jeez. My God. Me and him, we’ll sit down. We have a finance meeting every week because I think it’s important for him to know how his money is being spent,” she said.
According to Sharon, she often cautions the singer about buying more cars.
“I will now say, ‘David, please, no more cars,’” she added.
Sharon also spoke about growing up in a wealthy family, explaining that being born into a family with substantial wealth does not mean having unlimited access to cash.
She said there is usually a structured family wealth system, meaning members are expected to operate within allocated budgets or their ava>ilable means.
“A lot of Nepo babies, should I say, they don’t have as much access to cash as you may think. They have more than the average person, but it’s not unlimited,” she said.
Sharon also revealed that she has been closely involved in Davido’s career for years, describing him as someone she has always looked after.
She said their close relationship also means she can tell him things that other members of his team may be reluctant to say.
